Design Apprentice wanted!

We are looking to take on a design apprentice. You have to be an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with some proven experience in designing for web and applications as well as print. You will assist the team with design tasks and be involved in all projects. The role is tailored to someone who has experience in web design, application interaction and ideally mobile application design. You will be working alongside the team to create designs needed for specific projects and may be asked to use your own initiative in some situations.

Sycamore Adventure Playground

The new dynamic website for Sycamore Adventure (Dudley's award winning adventure playground) has been launched!

Over the past year, Dudley Play Service have made dramatic changes to the service that they deliver to support sustainability and as such they now offer free public access adventure play sessions, bookable play sessions for schools and groups, private children's parties, team building and play training, conference hire and catering options. They needed a site that promoted and managed all of these services. Keith Rogers, Play Service Manager for Sycamore Adventure says the following: “Trilby Multimedia have worked really hard to develop our new website. The website has a wide range of uses including:

Information and promotion of all services available at the adventure playground
Managing our complex booking system
Storing all relevant information about the play service
Collating information about use of the centre
Obtaining feedback from those who access services at Sycamore Adventure and evidencing the benefits of play for children and young people

We believe that this vehicle will massively aid promotion of the adventure playground, use of the service, monitoring and evaluation and support children's play in Dudley.”

iPad videos for Academia

Trilby Multimedia have recently completed two promotional videos for Academia on behalf of Apple.
Filmed at Gumley House Convent School in Middlesex the short films showcase how iPads can be used to teach Science and Maths in Schools. The videos have been premiered at the BETT show in January before going online.

Ben Stanley and Neil Emery are both at BETT this week. Ben is working at the Academia stand and Neil Emery is at the joint Albion Computers, KRCS and Western Computers stand.

Both are delivering workshops and presentations which highlight the uses of the iPad and other Apple products in relation to education.

Ben and Neil would love to see you all there - so go and pay them a visit!

Hello Culture Event

Hello Culture is a one day event which will focus on how the cultural sector can engage with digital technology. As part of tomorrow’s event Benjamin Stanley, from Trilby will be speaking as part of the education panel. This panel will focus on developing interactive education and learning resources for children, teachers, young people, adult learners and arts and cultural sector professionals.

Benjamin is Director of Creative Technology at Trilby with a focus on applying ICT in practical and meaningful ways. He believes that technology should act as an enabler to help redefine our world rather than simply a substitute for existing practices. As an Apple Education Mentor Ben works in many educational settings around the UK and beyond, advising and working on long term projects with staff and students. His passion is making sure that creative technology is used to maximum benefit wherever it can be applied.

Trilby is looking for a part time administrator or office manager to assist in general office duties. Working with the team you will need experience in invoicing, book keeping, organising key staff calendars, booking travel and hotels, front of house, telephones, meet and greet, general office administration.

For us the ideal candidate is someone who is experienced, interested in creativity and technology, self motivated and well organised, IT literate. You will need to be able to organise people, take on an active team role and show some intuition in your working practice. Initially part-time, we see this job maturing in to a full time role for the successful candidate.

Making Links - Dancing for the Games

We recorded and streamed the Making Links performance at Mushroom Green - the worlds oldest chain making factory.

The stream was a 45 minute live webcast from the chain shop and surrounds. With help from the neighbours for power and Internet connectivity we entertained the online viewers and made the performance accessable to those who missed the limited ticket run.

A recorded version of the performance will be shown on the Big Screen in Victoria square during July. Find out more at the Dancing for the Games website.
