BETT 2013 took place last week at ExCeL in London near the Royal Victoria Dock. Directors Ben Stanley and Neil Emery were both present at the show. Here's their write up.

Neil Emery - Apple Education Mentor

I can’t say I have ever known 4 days go past me so quickly. The reason for that was BETT 2013 was simply a fantastic experience. I love my job because I get to present to education focused audiences on the strengths of technology in the classroom. My sessions at BETT 2013 with fellow ADE Chris Smith saw me dress up as a Basketball player for our iPad in PE presentation. As a Scientist donning white coat, hard hat and safety glasses for our iPad in Science session.

Neil experiments with exothermic reactions

For the finale a hoody and Orbital style light up glasses for our Music Production with the iPad session. I had a lot of fun and so did Chris, and for us both thats very important. I have a feeling that teachers forget sometimes that learning should be fun and when it is, we all learn more. I certainly know more now about the techniques needed for a basketball Free Throw, what an exothermic reaction is, and how to play the bass part and melody line to the classic 80’s tune Axel F. So a big thank you to three very reputable Apple resellers in Albion Computers, KRCS and Western Computers, as without them my attendance would not have been needed. But the biggest thank you goes out to my fellow ADE Chris Smith for making this years BETT so much fun. If anyone is interested in our training services or our inspiration sessions such as those delivered at BETT, then please get in touch ! Final words of wisdom from me - See you next year :-)

Ben Stanley - Apple Education Mentor, Apple Certified Trainer

My BETT 2013 experience involved far less costume changes than Neil, but I was very proud to be supporting RM Education in their 1:1 Computing zone. The big blue polo shirt with the largest ever RM logo will be burned in to my mind for some time! We were insanely busy from doors opening on the Wednesday to home time on Saturday.

Ben Stanley at BETT with RM

Along with my three Apple focused colleagues, we talked nothing but iPads to the many hundreds of visitors to the stand. Questions around iPad management, volume app purchasing, training and support were the basis of many enquiries that we effectively answered. Some schools wanting to jump in to 1:1 and some really not sure where to begin, there really was a great variety of visitors at this years show.
The best part of BETT was showcasing our new RM Trilby Training app, which is an iPad app that has nuggets of learning placed next to our course catalogue, reminding people that training is just as much a part of any successful iPad deployment as the iPad themselves. It is great that the Trilby team were able to support four of our reseller partners at this years show. I know we will be there again in 2014 so see you there!
