Telescopes for Schools DVD  

To celebrate the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009), the Society for Popular Astronomy has up to 1000 telescopes to give to secondary schools to help inspire young people (aged between 11 and 14) with the wonders of the night sky. The funding for the telescopes is provided by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

The telescopes are accompanied by a DVD, produced by Trilby Multimedia and funded by the Royal Astronomical Society. The DVD contains over an hour of footage on how to set up and use the telescope as well as interviews with leading astronomers, SPA members and Sir Patrick Moore.
