The WMLETS website is an initiative by North Birmingham LETS and Trilby Multimedia and is part funded by the Economic Development Department of Birmingham City Council. It aims to be a Directory of all LETS members in the region who are prepared to trade regionally, and it contains promotional and educational material around LETS philosophy and practice.

The development and promotion of Local Exchange Trading Schemes or Systems is an aspect of economic regeneration that goes beyond the stimulation of local trading. LETS is also about mutual support and a shared commitment to work cooperatively. LETS in the West Midlands has been exemplified by South Birmingham LETS since the early 1990's and there are now small schemes all around the region.

The WMLETS website is a strategic development which aims to encourage the implementation and employment of digital communications in the region by providing not only information about LETS but also through facilitating discussion forums. The site is designed for the collaborative publishing of details about local LETS initiatives and encourages LETS members to create 'Spot Ads', short digital advertisements for their services.
