The Sandwell TextMap was developed at Trilby as a demonstration of how creative writing can be made more accessible. With the disc new audiences as well as existing readers can encounter writing from and about Sandwell in fresh ways, with images and sounds adding new dimensions to the experience.
The disc contains a range of texts, old and new, and presents different ways of accessing the material. From the start of TextMap you can view texts from geographical and thematic aspects. A set of tours will take you through linked texts or you can refer to Sandwell by Author. A Random Choice adds serendipity to this array of 'reading' options.
Additional materials on the disc cover the aims of the Networds Project, illustrating many of the outcomes, details about Sandwell Community Libraries and information about the partners, sponsors and funders of the Networds series of activities.
The CD-ROM is available to view at West Bromwich Main Library and we have a copy here at Trilby which you are welcome to borrow, just get in touch.
