Dudley Artform Audit
Technology is becoming more and more a part of everyday life, however the use of technology in the creative fields is still something left to those who know how and what to do. One way of overcoming this is to introduce technology at an early stage in our education system, especially in our teaching of creative skills in schools.

We were commissioned by Dudley LEA and West Midlands Arts in 2000 to look into the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in schools. Dudley schools had a major overhaul of their technology in 1999-2000 as part of a £40 million Private Finance Initiative and the Dudley Grid for Learning was created.

We choose to actively research the possibilities of this new equipment and network by conducting pilot projects in four schools, and we created a website to detail the projects and to report on our findings.

Other work in Dudley includes the website support package for the Learning Express Summer School which includes animation and video work in LETV. Dudley Education Services are our partners in the innovative MagnetSites project which puts the Internet to creative and productive use in educational settings.
