A fun and interactive website for young people aged 11-16 exploring some fascinating objects and their stories from the collections of the Walsall Museum and Gallery Service. This website is under construction as part of the Entitlement project funded by the Department for Education and Employment as part of their Museums and Galleries Education Programmes initiative.

Using QuickTimeVR for the 3D objects and providing many creative activites around the items, this site aims to link young people more directly with the Museums and with The New Art Gallery, Walsall. We are developing the CollectionExplorer engine so that a similar provision can be offered to other organisations who wish to make their collections available for exploration and creative interpretation over the Internet.

The Entitlement project gave seventeen Walsall teachers the opportunity to work at the Walsall Museums and Gallery Service on secondment. The result is nine resource boxes and programmes of study created by teachers for teachers, full of exciting things to use in the classroom to support Art, History and English at primary and secondary level. The website will enable young people to "make their own resource boxes" and to build a personal attachment to some of the artefacts in the collections.
