is a website and CD-ROM aimed at a professional audience - providers of training, officers responsible for employment and regeneration strategies, community development workers and housing officers charged with tenant involvement. The project highlights the importance of childcare for sustainable regeneration and has practical examples of childcare models and useful resources including PDFs (portable document format) of booklets by Daycare Trust and People for Action.
We used video interviews to explore 'opportunities and tensions' related to providing childcare and involved more than 20 tenants, project workers and officers in the production. Video is used on the CD-ROM and audio with still photos are on the website.
Developed for People for Action, the housing associations' research and support unit, it includes material from three projects - Empowerment towards Employment, with housing associations and their tenants; Community Parents, with Birmingham Specialist Community Health Trust and New Kids on the Block, a tenants and residents self-help initiative.
